Influenced by eclectic backgrounds and genres, today’s emerging opera artists are imagining work that speak to younger, more diverse audiences and reimagining how we present and think about the classics. Catapult is committed to identifying, supporting, and empowering this next wave of visionary artists through fast-grant competitions and project-based collaborations.

Opera Accelerate Competition

We believe that the legacy production model for opera is too slow and too expensive to remain viable. Long-term sustainability lies in forging new pathways for artists to bring their ideas to market as quickly as possible without diminution of quality. We started the Opera Accelerate to incentivize innovation at the individual level and support the next wave of great artistic voices.
